AUCKLAND, New Zealand, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Severe weather has hit New Zealand regions in both North Island and South Island.

In the largest city Auckland, flights into Auckland Airport were delayed, cancelled, or diverted to alternate airports due to strong winds.

Heavy rain and gusty wind have also caused localized flooding. A building in Auckland reportedly collapsed due to high winds.

Speed limits had been reduced on the Auckland Harbour Bridge to 90 km/h as winds whipped through the city on Friday morning, according to the New Zealand Transport Agency.

Orange Heavy Rain Warnings have also been issued for some regions in South Island, ending by Friday evening.

Heavy rain and flooding have also forced some residents in the Marlborough region to evacuate on Friday morning.
