SEOUL -- South Korea's employment recorded the biggest fall in four months in September as the COVID-19 resurgence here roiled the services industry, statistical office data showed Friday.

The number of those employed was 27,012,000 in September, down 392,000 from a year ago, according to Statistics Korea. It was the fastest slide in four months since May. (South Korea-Employment rate)

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally reached 7,370,468 and death toll 112,161 on Friday, as 63,371 new cases and 895 deaths were reported over the past 24 hours across the country, said the latest data released by the federal health ministry.

Still there are 804,528 active cases in the country, while 6,453,779 people have been successfully cured and discharged. (India-COVID-19)

JAKARTA -- The confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indonesia increased by 4,301 in the past 24 hours to 353,461 with 12,347 deaths, the Health Ministry said on Friday.

According to the ministry, 79 more deaths from the coronavirus pandemic were recorded during the same period, and 3,883 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 277,544. (Indonesia-COVID-19 cases)

CANBERRA -- International travelers will enter Australia for the first time since March after the nation's borders were opened to New Zealand in a limited capacity.

From Friday travelers from New Zealand can arrive in New South Wales (NSW) and the Northern Territory (NT) without having to spend 14 days in quarantine. (Australia-New Zealand-Travel)
