Cape Town - South Africa's Raven Klaasen and his New Zealand partner Michael Venus staged an incredible fightback to beat John Peers (Australia) and Henri Kontinen (Finland) in a five-set thriller on Wednesday to book their place in the Wimbledon men's doubles semi-finals.

Klaasen and Venus, the third seed, saw off their eighth-seeded opponents 4-6, 6-3, 6-7 (7/5), 6-4, 6-3.

The duo needed to come back from a set down on two occasions before winning the pulsating final two to seal an incredible victory, where they now stand a chance of winning a first ever Grand Slam title with two more victories this week.

Klaasen and Venus, the tournament runner's up from last year, will face the Colombian second seeded pair of Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah on Thursday for a place in the final.

Nicholas Mahut and Edouard Roger Vasselin (both France) will play Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek from Croatia and Slovakia, respectively, in the second semi-final.
